I leave to Colombia this friday January 22th, and I will be there for about 60 days. Our first destination in Colombia is Medellín, where we will serve in a ministry called Ciudad Refugio

“Ciudad Refugio is committed to the restoration of vulnerable, at-risk populations, offering emergency humanitarian assistance and holistic programming to individuals in need.”

“We seek to be clear in our presentation of biblical truth. We offer practical, immediate assistance to those in need, a form of spiritual hospital but with a vision for long-term holistic development.”

“Ciudad Refugio is a team of passionate people committed to loving God and serving the needs of others, offering holistic assistance and opportunity to Colombia’s most vulnerable populations.”

I left home on January 8th and have been at the Adventures and Missions headquarters in Georgia ever since. We are 15 people in total and we have been learning and preparing our hearts and minds for the ministry we will do this year.

We have been learning about each of our roles and responsibilities, and have done many activities to get to know each other better, a lot of worshipping and prayer, training for different scenarios, many classes and lectures on different subjects, and much inner work as well. My continual prayer is, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24).

Holy Spirit has been really highlighting 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 to me over the past week, “the Lord opened a door of opportunity to me… he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume… Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God… We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.”

We were worshipping the other day and I was captivated by the beauty of feeling sweet fragrance arising to Father. How satisfying to be loved and to love him, and to share the fragrance… the sweet aroma of the perfume of love.
