What is the World Race?

Hello everyone! I will do missionary work for 11 months in 11 countries with the World Race. I will be going on the Expedition Route which focuses on the 10/40 window (some of the most unreached places by the gospel). My launch date is set to January 2020.

The goal of the World Race is “to share the love of Jesus and serve others around the world”. The World Race is a program sponsored by Adventures in Missions, “an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship”. My team and I will help plant churches, evangelize to marginalized people and travelers, serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, build relationships, encourage and train people in the faith, and more, being guided by the Holy Spirit through it all.

A bit about myself…

This process of preparing myself mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and putting in all the necessary work to go to this mission trip has been a challenging undertaking for me. If you know me, you know that I am a very reserved and private person.

God is transforming my understanding of who I think I am, and well it can be quite difficult to leave my comfort zone. Though, even if momentarily painful, ever since I started having an intimate relationship with Jesus, I have observed a lot of growth in my person. Glory to God! Radically following the Lord is the most fulfilling I have ever experienced my heart to be; the most peaceful my mind has ever felt; the most inspired my spirit has ever been.

Sometimes, like right now, I imagine myself being in heaven, green expansive fields, awe-inspiring feats of architecture, angelic beings beautiful in kind, precious colors and designs, together with my family in Christ, the kingdom of light, all harmoniously worshipping the Lord and living joyfully in His holy presence. Then, I snap back to reality and I remember, the Lord is with me right here and right now. I just have to nurture my relationship with Him and obey His voice.

Looking forward

I cannot help but look into the future in heaven, and next year when I venture to spread the gospel around the world. I visualize the struggles I will face, but also the great joy I will experience as God works through me to further His kingdom. I am here for a reason, we are here for a reason– to learn and walk and grow as a family in sanctification following Jesus, to save souls. In fact, I do not have to wait to leave abroad! The fight to crucify the desires of my flesh, grow in my relationship with Him, demonstrate and live according to His great love, share the good news, is an ongoing life long expedition that has already started. My personal goal for this missions trip is for my character to grow in Christ-likeness, and that the Holy Spirit may be seen and that it may work through me for the glory of God.

Let’s connect

This is my first blog post, one of many to come in this journey of mine. I would love to engage in conversation and connection with you. As I have gotten closer to Jesus, His love is simply too big not to share, so I am very happy to build relationships and grow together as the body of Christ. I am always intrigued to learn about how God designed each and every person I meet, everyone uniquely and distinctly created. We are all different, yet also very similar. So, I invite you to join me! Through dialogue, prayer, financially, and/or wherever God leads you.

His kingdom come, His will be done, here as it is in heaven. Amen!

Joshua 1:9 (NLT)

9 This is my command– be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
